On Tuesday, April 18, 2023 I drove to Fort Detrick, Maryland for my appointment with my VA dermatologist.
1. The dermatology nurse too my blood pressure and asked why I was there. I mentioned that I have been treated for psoriasis and that the steroidal ointment was somewhat effective on my back while other areas of my back, shoulders and arms were not effective at all.
2. The dermatologist doctor asked me while I was there. I mentioned that the Fluocinonide ointment was effective on my buttocks and part of my back and shoulders.
3. The dermatologist doctor examined my upper left arm and she agreed with me that she that she would make an exisional biospy. She numbed the area and after it became effective she sliced off the biopsy. I joked I probably lost a couple milligrams of weight :-)
4. Then the dermatologist doctor discussed using a steroidal injection into the pustules that itched - upper neck, scalp, shoulders, upper arms and back. I agreed with the doctor and told her I preferred that she would inject as many as she could.
a. The dermatologist doctor decided to injected the pustule at my upper neck and it was extremely painful - she made three attempts and the third was successful .
b. Then she injected the steroidal injection into my scalp, shoulders, upper back and sides which thankfully were less painful.
c. The nurse gave me some Bacitracin Zinc ointment packages an band-aids and told me to wait 24 hours to shower and apply the Bacitracin Zinc ointment and a band-aid. He instructed me to change the band aid each day.
