Eagle Scout, High School Grad 1976, ST Mary's College 1980. Worked construction all over the US. Enlisted in the US Army 20 MAR 1981 as a PFC, OSUT, D31, then Airborne Course at Fort Benning, GA. Assigned to CO C, 1/508th, 3d Brigade, 82d Airborne Division. Earned the 82d ABN DIV Trooper of the quarter by General James J. Lindsay. Attended PNCOC & BNCOC. Earned many Awards. AATW!

C CO 1/508th 3d Brigade 82d Airborne Division | Fort Liberty, NC

Rifleman, CO's RTO Team Leader, Dragon Missile CRS Assistant Operations NCO, Air Transportation of Hazard Material Course, PNCOC, BNCOC, Operation Reforger 82, Operation Display Determination (jumped into Turkey). Recondo Course, Trained ElSalvadorian's in MOUT Training. Many Jumps to include "Fun Jumps" on Saturdays! Total of 83 Jumps. C-123, C 130's, C 141's, Huey Jumps, a Chinook tailgate, even C 130 Tailgate jumps. To include many jumps off the tailgates of 2 1/2 trucks! Made buddies with many Fellow Troopers but lost contact with all but three. No cell phones or email back in those days. Lost 5 Troopers in the 1/508th. We didn't call Fayetteville Fayet-Nam for this reason.

Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)

Was on ADSW with the 353 CACOM from Fort Wadsworth, NY to pre plan the Mobilization Training of Task Force 353 (apprx. 860 PACS) assemble over 350 Trainers for 6 weeks of Training at Ft McCoy, WI. Back to NYC for Fort Bragg, NC to check off all our boxes to Mobilize and palletize all gear to deploy to Iraq. We suffered losses being a part USACAPOC.
