Bio
Lieutenant Colonel Klug enlisted in 1984 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Oregon Army National Guard in August 1996. Prior to his commissioning, he served as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps and in the United States Army; an instructor in the Army Reserve, and the Oregon Army National Guard. He retired on 30 April 2021.

Future Plans Officer (J5)
Serves as a J5 Future Plans Officer for the Joint Domestic Operations Command. Assists the J5 in the development and implementation of ORNG Joint civil response support plans. Integrates interagency, Oregon Office of Emergency Management and command efforts towards the attainment of the TAG's vision, goals and objectives. Translates and integrates TAG, JDOC guidance, and State plans into operational ORNG-level policy, plans and long-range training guidance. Develops ORNG policies and plans to implement NGB transformational and strategic initiatives.

Personnel Management Officer with the Physical Evaluation Board under the Physical Disability Agency (USPDA); investigates the nature, degree of severity, and permanency of each physical and mental condition of Soldiers and provides adjudication on those cases accordingly; fulfills the legal requirement by voting on Reserve cases; recommends disposition of the Soldiers cases for continued service or compensation for all Army components(Active Army, National Guard, and Army Reserves) IAW Federal Law, DoD Directives and Army Regulations; serves as Presiding Officer and one of three voting members in formal Disability Evaluation Boards; sustains Army Total Force Readiness by assisting the President and Senior PMO in taking care of military and civilian personnel.
