SC SESSIONS: JJ Grey & Mofro - Summer Camp Music Festival 2018
Our Summer Camp Session throwbacks continue as we revisit an archival set with JJ Grey & Mofro at #SCamp18. Get ready for a healthy dose of classic Southern ...
Background from allmusic.com
"Although Mofro is based in the Florida city of Jacksonville, near where JJ Grey and Daryl Hance grew up, the band actually formed across the Atlantic in London. The Floridians were in Great Britain to work on a recording contract that ended up going sour. While there, the two musicians made the acquaintance of Nathan Shepherd, a keyboard player from Down Under, and Fabrice Quentin, a bassist from France. Shepherd and Quentin joined them for a short time under the Mofro moniker. Unfortunately, the band's situation took an almost deadly turn following a show in Jacksonville that was supposed to be the start of a U.S. tour. Following an evening at the city's Marquee Theater, bandmembers were involved in an auto accident. Grey's wife sustained serious injuries, while Shepherd needed a period of rehabilitation and he returned to Australia.'

New Guitar Day! I am one happy camper right now. Yesterday afternoon I wandered into my favorite toy store, and hanging there in among the Martins was this gorgeous Taylor. It's near new, and flawless. The price was real right. This morning I went back in there with a stack of C-notes, and now it lives here. The new one, an 814ce, joins the 210e in the music room.
