Bio
Graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1963. Attended Hinds Junior College 1964-1965. Accepted Uncle Sam’s invitation to join the Army in 1966. Served in Vietnam with the First Air Cavalry Division as a rifleman/radio operator. Wounded in combat after 10 months in country. Returned to finish service time in the Army hospital in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Received Honorable Discharge in February, 1969. Attended Delta State College on the GI Bill. Met Gloria Eaker in February 1970 and were married in August of that year. Graduated together from DSC in 1971. Raised four children with a total of 9 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Production Control management for several industries in the area including Piper Impact. Retired in 2009. Accepted the position of Veterans Service Officer for Union County in 2010.
