APOD: 2019 September 11 - IC 1805: The Heart Nebula

Good Morning Maj William W. 'Bill' Price and thank you for another beautiful image of the "Heart Nebula" IC 1805 in the constellation Cassiopeia... There aren't many video clips of this Nebula, but I did find a short video, Heart Nebula (IC 1805) thru Image Intensifier in Real-Time... The following is the original description:
"See the interestingly shaped Heart Nebula (IC 1805), a diffuse nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. In the video the Heart is lying on its side with the top of the heart on the right side of the image. Taken while looking into a Gen 3 thin-film image intensifier coupled to a Takahashi Sky 90 telescope at f4.5. A narrow band Hydrogen-Alpha filter is used to improve nebula contrast. Magnification is 16X. Camera is the Panasonic GH3. Location is Mount Pinos, Calif." (jdb_astro)

Good afternoon my friend Maj William W. 'Bill' Price and thank you for posting the NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "IC 1805: The Heart Nebula."

This fiery red-white and blue image dominated by red seems appropriate for an anniversary of 9-11-2001. Kudos to Bray Falls for this picture.
1. The blue reminds me that despite the intentions of al Qaeda, the nation they attacked was mobilized in grief and came together long enough to respond by coming together and by forging a coalition against al Qaeda and the Taliban elements that supported them in Afghanistan and the northwest territories of Pakistan - primarily.
2. The heavens are amazing in beauty - thank God.

"Explanation: What energizes the Heart Nebula? First, the large emission nebula dubbed IC 1805 looks, in whole, like a human heart. The nebula glows brightly in red light emitted by its most prominent element: hydrogen. The red glow and the larger shape are all powered by a small group of stars near the nebula's center. In the center of the Heart Nebula are young stars from the open star cluster Melotte 15 that are eroding away several picturesque dust pillars with their energetic light and winds. The open cluster of stars contains a few bright stars nearly 50 times the mass of our Sun, many dim stars only a fraction of the mass of our Sun, and an absent microquasar that was expelled millions of years ago. The Heart Nebula is located about 7,500 light years away toward the constellation of Cassiopeia. Coincidentally, a small meteor was captured in the foreground during imaging and is visible above the dust pillars. At the top right is the companion Fishhead Nebula."
