Iowa farm boy. Attended country school 1939-1948, high school 1948-1952, Iowa Wesleyan College 1952-53, volunteered for draft May 1953, inducted June 1953-served until 1955. Honorable Discharge 1961. Married 1956, 2 sons, 2 daughters. 6 grandsons 1 granddaughter. Spent work career repair and restoration of commercial, Industrial, Historical structures.(My rank insignia with 3 stripes was incorrect so I added to get my "rocker" that was appropriate at the time)

Files Records Specialist
Responsible for maintaining AR and SR files, Group and Area Command records, maintain administrative supplies for all group and area command units. Performed CQ for Group and Area Command on rotating schedule. When unit was deactivated, gathered and collated all documents and records and flew to Seoul in two L-19's with Lt Thomas H. Leach to retire unit records, spending four days at 8th Army HQ. I was then assigned to 69th Transportation Battalion, where I did drill instruction and Sgt of Guard until time to rotate to CONUS. Was in charge of rec room detail on USS Weigel from Inchon to Port of Seattle. Was train car commander on troop train and was responsible for all personnel records in my car from Ft Lewis, WA to Fort Carson, CO.
