Good morning from my Red Cross meeting COL Mikel J. Burroughs
Those of us who transition happily and successfully have found a new mission to take on. Helping my fellow veterans is my mission and my passion. That requires learning and growing. What's your mission and what are you doing about it?

I expect that you are realize that your primary mission in life is to love each person you interact with as you love yourself Charlie.
I pray that you and I treat each person we interact with respect, my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown .
Thank YOU, dear God for YOUR Living Word which we call the Bible. I am grateful that YOU work through YOUR Word and through each of YOUR adopted children to draw men and women unto YOU.
I lift Christian missionaries to you on foreign shores and in this nation. I pray that YOUR light and love radiates through us and draws men, women and children toward YOU. Strengthen the soul of each missionary and give them endurance, compassion and great listening skills.
I lift each disabled veteran and each disabled family member of veterans to YOU. I pray for wisdom and skill for the medical professionals and caregivers who treat the veterans and their family members.
I lift each service member, police, Federal agents, sheriffs and deputies to YOU dear God. I pray that YOU provide wisdom to each and discernment about their surroundings and threats by terrorists and criminals. Enable them to discern friend neutral from foe.
I lift each adopted son and daughter of YOURs and their family members to YOU. I pray that they recognize the mission, objectives and requirements to be involved in the education of the children. I pray for an increase of love, compassion and hope among the families of this nation.
I lift each widow, widower, divorcee and other people whose lives have been severely disrupted. I pray that YOU infuse hope to each one and that YOU bless each with a mission that will benefit others as well as themselves.
I lift medical researchers, pharmaceutical drug researchers, health professional to YOU. I pray that YOU motivate each one to focus on the mission of improving health. I pray for wisdom and discernment as they work to develop preventive treatments and treatment for cancer patients and others who have minimal hope.
I pray that YOU restore hope to the hopeless and love to the unloved
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Tuesday night.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

My wife and I met when she was my primary care nurse. Sometimes fate changes all plans. We have been through 46 years now. She has been a gentle lamb and a fierce, kick me in the ass, when needed (especially when I thought I didn't need it). A nurse is a vocation that has basics that can be taught. A true nurse is an individual who can perform basics, but excels more times than not.

Good Morning, Colonel Burroughs and thank you for this post ~
As I read through the various quotes I am reminded of something I learned at some point in the Army which I believe (though I might be wrong on this point) was first coined at West Point. It made sense to me as a leader and served as a foundation for the way I lead my various units. "Mission First - People Always"
The mission must always be foremost but it cannot be accomplished without taking care of the people who will do the work of bringing about a successful result. Everybody wins in this scenario.
My predominant mission in life is to do all I can to let people know the truth of redemption so that in the end and on that great day, no one is left behind.
Have a blessed day and thank you for all you do!

LTC Stephen F. - Thank you, brother Ford, for your daily prayer and with respect to your first comment, I do my best to witness to others and testify of the Lord which requires three things of me: 1. I do so because of my love for the Lord; 2. I am willing; and 3. My love for the souls of others. And whatever good comes of it, the glory goes to the Lord.
Have a great evening, my friend.
