APOD: 2020 January 28 - Star Formation in the Tadpole Nebula

Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Star Formation in the Tadpole Nebula." This image was produced by the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) Space Telescope. WISE was launched in 2009, and upon completion of its initial mission was reactivated to search for near-Earth objects (aka asteroids). The details visible in the image are due to the detection of infrared light (not visible to the human eye) at wavelength bands of 3.4, 4.6, 12 and 22 microns. The telescope has a field of view of 47-arcminutes wide, or about one-and-a-half times the diameter of the moon. The Tadpole Nebula lies about 12,000 light years away in the constellation Auriga (the Charioteer).

Good Tuesday morning Maj William W. 'Bill' Price and a magnificent APOD for today in the Tadpole Nebula, some 12,000 light years away! Just got out of the shower, so will continue shortly...
Lots going on and had to take care of a few personal items before I was able to come back to RP for a short while... I searched for a decent short video of the Tadpole Nebula without success, but I did find that there was an Astronomy Photo of the Day back on 11/18/18... It was apart of another online article, which I share with your followers here... The photos are nearly the same, but the text that goes with the photos may be of interest... I did find a longer video and may share that as an adjunct from the both of us!

It is so difficult for our brains to realized that dust and Plasma (and more folks need to understand that second term a bit better) make our stars. My favorite is the Pillars of God in the Horsehead Nebula, but all of these Star Factories are amazing. And when they blow up several hundred million years later (or billions) we get the heavy Atoms that make Life possible. We are born as a Starburst, and collected as Stardust. And man, you just can't get a pretty picture than that.
