APOD: 2022 November 19 - Artemis 1 Moonshot

Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the November 19th edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Artemis 1 Moonshot." This was the scene at the Kennedy Space Center this past Wednesday a little after 1AM.
Yesterday, flight controllers used Orion’s cameras to inspect the crew module thermal protection system and European Service Module, the first of two planned external evaluations for the spacecraft. Teams conducted this survey early in the mission to provide detailed images of the spacecraft’s external surfaces after it has flown through the portion of Earth’s orbit where the majority of space debris resides.
Orion reaches the Moon on November 21st, and will spend the next several days in lunar orbit. The spacecraft will return to Earth in December.

The Heavens declare the Glory of God
APOD "Explanation: When the Artemis 1 mission's Orion spacecraft makes its November 21 powered flyby of the Moon, denizens of planet Earth will see the Moon in a waning crescent phase. The spacecraft will approach to within about 130 kilometers of the lunar surface on its way to a distant retrograde orbit some 70,000 kilometers beyond the Moon. But the Moon was at last quarter for the November 16 launch and near the horizon in the dark early hours after midnight. It's captured here in skies over Kennedy Space Center along with the SLS rocket engines and solid rocket boosters lofting the uncrewed Orion to space. Ragged fringes appearing along the bright edge of the sunlit lunar nearside are caused as pressure waves generated by the rocket's passage change the index of refraction along the camera's line of sight."

I'm glad to see some space exploration going on again. Oboma didn't give a damn about it then. I'm suprised that he lets his puppet Biden do something about it now. Obama is the worst, sorriest excuse for a president that this nation has ever seen. I'm white and not a racist, That SOB Oboma is half white and I can criticise the white part all I want.
