Thank you my space-exploration advocate friend Maj William W. 'Bill' Price for posting the June 10, 2022 Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD); Arp 286: Trio in Virgo, Image Credit Nicolas Rolland

Image: Arp 286: Trio in Virgo,

APOD Background: "Explanation: This colorful telescopic field of view features a trio of interacting galaxies almost 90 million light-years away, toward the constellation Virgo. On the right two spiky, foreground Milky Way stars echo the extragalactic hues, a reminder that stars in our own galaxy are like those in distant island universes. With sweeping spiral arms and obscuring dust lanes, the dominant member of the trio, NGC 5566, is enormous, about 150,000 light-years across. Just above it lies smaller, bluish NGC 5569. Near center a third galaxy, NGC 5560, is apparently stretched and distorted by its interaction with massive NGC 5566. The trio is also included in Halton Arp's 1966 Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies as Arp 286. Of course, such cosmic interactions are now appreciated as part of the evolution of galaxies. "

Outstanding capture.
Any thoughts on the radio signals being received from some outer space source?

SPC Michael Duricko, Ph.D Radio is received already (e.g. the National Radio Astronomy Oberservatory) ...the questions on my mind are:1) is the source natural? and 2) if not, what is producing it? #2 is potentially the more interesting of the two.

Maj William W. 'Bill' Price So fascinating that if any updates come to your knowledge please share them if you can. Also, we did send an ID message to outer space perhaps hoping for a response.......think this might be such a response? All of this is starting to get spooky!

SPC Michael Duricko, Ph.D Not having direct access to all the data, I'm assuming most are natural. But you are correct: a non-natural response would be unsettling. And a bit presumptuous to think it would be benign or friendly.

Maj William W. 'Bill' Price Indeed, we could be sending out an invitation for our destruction by totally unknown beings or non-beings.
