Ft Lewis 1955: MSGs and SFCs would charge me, a young SGT-5 with overseeing 'their' barracks on Friday nights and weekends.
They’d say, "I'll be home with my family".
I copied 5x5 & appreciated knowledge!
After my ETS, I went USAR, (I embraced the suck) & persisted.
The USAR’s 63rd ID, disbanded in 1965. Due to my reputation, I was offered a 1SG position in the CAARNG. Total of 28 years.
