Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the February 26th Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD: "Nearby Spiral Galaxy NGC 4945." Also known as Caldwell 83, NGC 4945 is a barred spiral galaxy in the southern constellation Centaurus, and lies some 13 million light years from Earth. The galaxy was discovered by James Dunlop in 1826 and is thought to be similar to the Milky Way Galaxy. Sadly, you won't see it much unless you find yourself in Key Largo, Florida, or points further south. But the view from today's APOD looks good to me.
