On Easter Sunday afternoon, I drove my darling wife to Fort Belvoir to shop at the Fort Belvoir commissary after eating something at the food court.
1. By the time we got to the Food Court, the only place open was Popeye's. The Popeye's crew seemed to be exhausted yet gracious.
a. My darling wife ordered a shrimp and french fry meal with a drink.
b. I ordered two Spicy Chicken breasts with large French fries and a drink cup. I had non-sweet tea which is my usual beverage.
c. The French fries were fresh and hot and the best part of the meal for both of us.
2. After we finished eating, my darling wife went to the base exchange and I joined her a little later.
a. On way we discussed purchasing a deep fryer for cooking french fries, onion rings, fried chicken, etc. I searched for one but could not find any.
b. I found my darling wife looking dejected. I cheered her up by purchasing a jade ring which she had tried to purchase. Interestingly enough my debit card showed insufficient funds while I had $2k in the account. On the second attempt I purchased the beautiful ring for her :-)
3. Then we went to the Commissary and purchased food for us and the adult sons who live with us
