1970's Calhoun developed Space Cadet focused on better use of space in crowded areas.

1970's Stanford University Professor Paul R. Ehrlich pessimist
Stanford University Professor Paul R. Ehrlich and his wife, Anne Ehrlich wrote The Population Bomb which predicted that by the 1970's hundreds of millions would die because over-population.
