So true. Really paying attention to the speaker requires respect, which sometimes appears to be out of favor these days.

I took a lot of communication seminars & classes years ago. This is so true.

One seminar leader said “most people are not listening to you, they are listening to ‘WIFM’ - “What’s In it for me”. So true.

Good afternoon Lt Col Charlie Brown!!! Are you listening, Or are you waiting to speak?
One could go round and round on this topic, Charlie... In my view, most people are waiting to speak and don't "L I S T E N"...! In any conversation, both parties communicating should try to do as much listening as they do talking... Some people hear, but do not listen. Those who are constantly speaking do so because they wish to control the conversation completely... There are those that speak (intelligently) and those that just plain "talk"... They neither speak or listen... In my view, just from the time I have seen you write posts and respond, I would classify you as one who both "speaks and listens"! A great trait by any standard... Have a great afternoon and evening, Charlie!
