I saw this at the time. That is not what he said or meant. What he said was: those who had "useful skills" for the Nazis may have survived the death camps. That is not at all the same thing.
And while I don't like the statement in the Florida curriculum; in context it still isn't great but it isn't a pro-slavery piece. It was written by two African American scholars who were trying to make the point that those who had learned a trade while enslaved, used those trades/skills after they were freed.

Lt Col Charlie Brown Again, the left taking one soundbyte completely out of context and making a mountain out of a molehill. Everyone that has been through any POW training unsersatnds that if you make yourself usefulit makes you more human and less likely to be killed or tortured. Once the enemy sees yo and connets with you on a human level they are less likely inclined to tyand kill you. I do believe that a lot of the Jews understood this. Was it right for them to act that way? Probably not but you do what you have to do tosurvive and get back to your family.

Read what was really written, it did no say that "slavery was beneficial to slaves," I defy you to find where those words are said. Comparing slavery to the holocaust is a travesty.

The left wants to push a narrative not the truth. The truth is, conquered tribe members not sold into slavery were often held to be tortured to death for tribal festivals of the conquering tribes. If you had a choice which would it be? Nobody thinks slavery was good.
