Not sure who to thank for this, normally its a Republican Congress that gives our active duty folks the best pay raises.

One of the reasons for the reduced COLA is they do not include fuel and food in the calculations.

My military retiree pay raise is 8.7% for 2023.
"Military retirees and disabled veterans will see their monthly checks increase by 8.7% for 2023, thanks to an annual adjustment to the federal Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) due to inflation."
