Good Red Friday morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "South Celestial Rocket Launch." Have you ever heard of the Mahia Launch Complex? Mahia is a commercial spaceport located close to Ahuriri Point at the southern tip of Mahia Peninsula, on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. It is owned and operated by private spaceflight company Rocket Lab and supports launches of the company's Electron rocket, and has been in operation since 2016. This composite, timelapsed image is from a December 2019 mission that successfully deployed seven satellites. The next mission is scheduled for the end of March 2020. Do these launches get much coverage, Cynthia Croft?
