What does the saying "You cannot fix STUPID really mean?
This is NOT mine, but a friend from Active Duty many years ago. Figured it is appropriate to mention in defining today's 'civil' discourse climate:
S.T.U.P.I.D.O. means, according to my friend from a large metro area with old school parents - this:
'S'imply and
'T'otally
'U'nprepared to
'P'articipate in
'I'ndividual
'D'aily
'O'perations!
He use to say that his dad loved crossword puzzles and that it helped him with is English. He said one day to my friend, his son, "...You know your 'friend'(i.e. talking about some kid from his youth) ____________ he is STUPIDO...So, you know what 'STUPIDO' means - right?..." Then he say his father would quickly transition saying "...Sitdown, I am gonna tell ya!...".
He said his father got out a piece of paper and wrote down the letter S T U P I D O just as you see them. My friend said his dad wrote the spelling and told him "...don't be STUPIDO...think for yourself and be - a man!...Question everything with due respect...".
I never had the chance to meet his dad. But both our dads had come from 'the old country' and both learned to make lives in a new land, while still taking the time to share simple wisdom with their sons.
In any event, it is a great story, that I was just day dreaming about as I was clearing my thoughts getting ready for my next project. I wish the acronym idea was mine, but it is not!
Just wanted to share. Hope you reshare with your circles. Have a great day!
