Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that January 31 is the anniversary of the birth of former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher and a previous chief executive officer (CEO) of the Texas Rangers Lynn Nolan Ryan Jr. nicknamed The Ryan Express who is currently an executive adviser to the owner of the Houston Astros.
Happy Birthday Nolan Ryan with many happy returns.

Saw The Ryan Express in the old Arlington (Texas) ball park, Maj Marty Hogan. The 100+ MPH fast ball was obvious even from the Left Field bleachers on 25-cent beer night. Great memories.

We lived in Shreveport at that time- he was one of my favs and when he came to Texas was very excited to see him pitch more. Son picked up the line and has been a fan since. My favorite was when he hit Robin Ventura and Ventura charged the mound. He was like 21 or 22 and Ryan was 44 and a big dude. Ventura helped himself to a televised ass beating I am sure he will not forget.

Besides his blazing fastball, I'll always remember him for the time that a young Robin Ventura decided to rush the mound after getting hit with a pitch. I guess Ventura expected Ryan to run, and when he didn't, Ventura didn't know what to do when he got out there. Ryan knew what to do.....he got Ventura in a headlock and started rapping his knuckles on the top of his head. Funniest thing I've ever seen in baseball!

Played annually on the anniversary by Dallas and Houston TV stations. Never gets old watching him beat the crap out of someone half his age.
