Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the September 10th edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD). At first glance I thought today's APOD was a painting. The different visual effect adopted by the astrophotographer duo (Antoine and Dalia Grelin) who created this beauty is surprisingly simple...render the usual red for ionized hydrogen gas in gold. I think the results are breathtaking.

If you've got a few minutes, I suggest visiting Antoine and Dalia's website (its a link on today's APOD page). They created Galactic Hunter in 2015, and haven't looked back since. You can even read about how they found their dog Stella. Cheers.

That is an extraordinary APOD exciting all imaginative senses for seeing something different in that pic each and every time I look at it. How about that huge goldfish swimming by or the snake in the foreground. It's like finding images in various cloud formations.
