Vastly different from when I came on active duty in 1968.

They still take my VA payment directly from my Retirement pay - dollar for dollar!

1SG Dean Mcbride (MPER) (CPHR) That's why I didn't even try to claim any disability when I retired, even though I could have.

Agree! I also would have had I known what transpired... It was sort of dumped on me - back then, they did not have any programs to assist in retirement and transition - you just signed your paperwork and left post...

1SG Dean Mcbride (MPER) (CPHR) That surprises me. Guess I have to thank the Air Force then because I was required to attend one day of briefings that went over all that stuff.

1SG Dean Mcbride (MPER) (CPHR) I'm 61 and still can do decent P.T. While my wife watches stupid shows like the Fat weight gaining kardashians, She doesn't understand that United states has fifty five percent of its total force in the Reserve component. That reserve component Is probably twenty or thirty percent understrength.

1SG Dean Mcbride (MPER) (CPHR) You would be good for the NCO board. It would also be great for reviewing promotion packets.

You could be a rare detachment n c o or DOD Civilian GS-11 to GS-15
