They are in a war for their country and it blows my mind they allow professional athletes a pass on the draft. I do not believe winning for either side is as important as dragging this out for the military industrial complex to make money.

We gave draft deferments to certain religious faiths during Vietnam. My Catholic faith didn't matter. Draft Lottery Number 103.

SPC Joseph Kopac - I was an only child when I went to Afghanistan back in 2006 and in both of our cases, neither conflict was ever going to be on US shores where as Ukraine is fighting for their very existence. You and I know that if the battle ever came to US shores we would fight and these professional athletes in Ukraine that are not fighting are cowards.

Maybe they should make the athletes serve in a non combat role like many movie stars did in WW2. Myself, even if I was some kind of a celebrity, I could not stand by and let another country invade us.
