No surprise here. My son works as an accountant at a not to be disclosed firm. He started out in computer engineering but switched to accounting in college.
When his bank brought in new software for all the folks that do audits of other banks loans, it couldn’t do what it needed to do. It took him between 6-9 months to beta test and get the computer geeks to change the program to make it usable.
When updates are added he has to beta test and work with the IT folks again to get it usable. Instead of having to go on the road for audits, when the other folks are using the software, he has to stay back in the office to field the calls to get the folks on the right page. Once that occurs he can go on the road as well, but he keeps his phone on.
