These forgotten Mogadishu vets remember the operation their way

This Harley Davidson motorcycle was constructed as a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the veterans who served in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993. Roland "Poncho" Carrizales (left), a Mogadishu veteran, was the first to sign the bike for Ed Ricord, the veteran who rebuilt the motorcycle, and his wife Laura Ricord plan to tour the country with the motorcycle to collect signatures from the remaining veterans and Gold Star Families, culminating in a presentation of the signed motorcycle to the 10th Mountain Division on the 30th anniversary of the battle. Ed Ricord joined the Army in 1979, he trained as a medic.
Roland “Poncho” Carrizales signed up for the Army in 1991 and went to the 10th Mountain Division.
