What's next for the Southern Baptist Convention after it ousted 5 woman-led churches?

As I've said before, there are a multitude of Christian denominations. If you don't want to adhere to the tenants of the denomination your in, convert/move to another one.
Southern Baptists may not allow female clergy, but American Baptists, Episcopalians, and many others, including almost all non-denominational Christian churches, do.

Perzactly...too many people focus on one thing and want the world to change for them instead of finding out where they fit in and the what works for them. Instead they single one out and try to stir the trouble pot just to make noise. If they aren't hurting you then let them be and find out where you need to be instead of poking them in the eye of public court!

Again Chip...picking and choosing verses that don't fit the story. Below are the verses that reference church leadership...as referenced throughout the verses it states He over and over again. And as for Anonymous below ...nope they are not going to hell.
1 Timothy 3 - 1 Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[a] respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap. 8 In the same way, deacons[b] are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. 11 In the same way, the women[c] are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. 12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. 13 Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.

I think it's hilarious when people say "oh you're cherry picking verses" and then do the same thing...
The Bible is a book full of contradictions - and it's been horribly mistranslated over the years. Like the verse people like to claim says that the Abrahamic god hates gays - that "man shall not lie with man as with woman..." it actually says "man shall not lie with boy as with woman.'
I also find it amazing "there's plenty of denominations if you don't like one join another..." then what's the point of being a Christian if you just have hundreds of denominations with THEIR interpretation of "Christ's teachings?" How is that Christ-like?
This is what boggles me about Christians - and really anyone who is religious but mostly Christians having grown up Catholic. It's just contradiction after contradiction also the fact those who believe in the Abrahamic god are in an abusive relationship with it...to each his or her own but damn.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - I unblocked you weeks ago and I responded and told you such as soon as I did it. Like you said to each their own and I choose to believe in God. But that is the thing you say we don't act like Christ...no one does and no one is perfect like he was. The difference is we try to be and strive to be but over and over again we fall short but here is the rub...God forgives my transgressions if I humble myself and acknowledge what I did was sin and ask his forgiveness. I am far and I mean far from being just like Jesus...never will be. But that is my belief and like you said, again, to each their own.
If you don't believe, that is your right to not believe and that is what makes America great. We can believe or not and no one is condemed either way by the government for that. This world is full of hypocrisy, mistranslation from believers and non believers and extremely awful human beings and being Christian does not excuse anyone from being in those groups. That is why I read my bible and I let it speak to me how I read it. Not just Christians are that way...all people have the tendency to be like that and that is unfortunate...but Christians are singled out a lot cause everyone expects us to be perfect...well we are not. We are just like anyone else but for the grace of God. But because someone does not believe does not to give them the right to pick apart their belief...one they don't understand. I am not coming after you for your disbelief and I appreciate those that don't challege mine.
Cheers

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth, thanks for the civility in your response….. I believe that it is our right to disagree and, as you said, that’s what makes America great. People often forget that…… just because you don’t like, agree with, or believe in something… it does not make it objectively wrong; it’s just different from what you know.
I choose discussion over discourse, however some here prefer to attack anyone who disagrees with their belief or doesn’t believe as they do. I find this to be ironic on a site that is supposed to be for veterans who took an oath to defend this country and the constitution.

CPL Douglas Chrysler - It is what I believe. I don't like being attacked for my belief and I don't attack others. I did one time on here years ago and it ate me up.
I am not nor will I ever be any thing close to perfect and neither is anyone else. I will have to answer for some things in my life but I know that Jesus will be standing there saying I paid his debt and he followed me. Come into thy rest. Oh but for the grace of God.
