Good afternoon, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Moon Setting Behind Teide Volcano." We return to the Canary Islands for another earth and sky perspective provided by Mount Teide. This 2:19 video was first published in June 2018, and I suspect someone in APOD land thought it might be good to show it again. I for one agree. Note there is no time lapse at work here; the combined motion of the Earth and Moon is at work. The Moon is imaged through a telescopic lens, and the people on the ridge are 16 km (~10 miles) away. Enjoy.

Good Morning Maj William W. 'Bill' Price from a warm Sw Florida, currently about 81°, but headed up between 84° and 89° today... Great APOD with the "Moon setting behind Teide Volcano"... I am amazed at the apparent size of the moon, but know this is an effect of the telephoto lens being used by the Videographer... Outstanding short video though!
As an adjunct to your APOD video, I found a great similar timelapse video taken of a full moon rising about 143 Kilometers away from the domes which you can see in the video. The camera was located at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (La Palma Island) and the full moon rises behind the domes of the Teide Observatory (Tenerife Island) located 143 km away. Only the clarity of the atmosphere of the Canary Islands, allows to distinguish very distant objects and see an impressive moonrise." El Cielo de Canarias https://youtu.be/wqfGJK-_OSQ
