There is absolutely no way to know if POTUS was honest or not unless you were in the room when the facts were presented to him and the decision was made. All this stuff about Trump lying is largely made up based on specious information at best.

Those who thrive on hate tend to make it up as they go, they also lap up the lies like soup. They will never stop even after he completes his second term and has been out of office for a decade.

1SG Dennis Hicks - I think the POTUS that follows Trump will be both Republican and a reformer. The Democrats have already made their choice to stay out of the Oval Office for the next 8 years at least. Repeat of what happened after Ronald Reagan came to office. Took Democrats 12 years to realize their party was so effed up in idealogy they had to invent Clinton as pro-Business and reformer. Well that lasted 8 years (of a moderate Democrat) then it was hard swing to the left and embracing Socialism again. I just wonder how many times they are going to repeat the same cycle over and over again.
