Lima Co, 3/9; back in the day before unit rotation when 9th Marines were at Camp Schwab & 4th Marines were at Camp Hansen. Assigned as Platoon Sgt for 5 months with weapons & 1st platoon, as Platoon Commander for 7 months due to shortage of lieutenants.. Battalion was on 7 month float throughout the Far East.

Part of a 7 month float out of Okinawa. First liberty visit to Pattaya since the Vietnam War. Trained at Sattahip with the Royal Thai Marine Corps in night rubber boat raids in the Gulf of Thailand.
