The only reason to avoid verifiable legitimate ID is to employ fraud and sneak in people to vote that are not legitimate ie not citizens at all or the deceased still casting votes or even voting more than once. We have to show ID for many other things to avoid fraud but not something as important as out elections ? We wonder why many politicians can't be trusted ?
