APOD: 2019 October 19 - All Female Spacewalk Repairs Space Station

Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day is titled "All Female Spacewalk Repairs Space Station." NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Christina Koch (red stripe), members of the International Space Station Expedition 61 crew, replaced a failed Battery Charge / Discharge Unit (BCDU) that was not reachable with the station's robotic arm. A BCDU regulates the amount of current from two battery "packs" (each with 38 series-connected Ni-H2 cells), and can provide up to 6.6 kW of power to the Space Station. The activity lasted a little more than 7 hours.
