Air Force Needs Almost $5 Billion To Recover Bases From Hurricane, Flood Damage

Nothing that will be fixed this year. More funding needed this year or things will be cut.

1. To be honest, I think that Tyndall Air Force Base in the Florida Panhandle which was hit hard by Hurricane Michael in October 2018 probably would need significant rebuilding of infrastructure, etc.
2. I am less convinced about the impact of seasonal flooding at Offutt Air Force Base in eastern Nebraska. Yes the flooding was much higher than typical resulted in "about one-third of Offutt Air Force Base being underwater earlier this month as flooding hit large swaths of the Midwest."

Hurricane and tornado dame is much more significant than seasonal flooding. I would hope that (1) infrastructure changes at Offutt Air Force Base would be evaluated to reduce the impact of future flooding and (2) considerations of cost/benefits to relocate the base over the next 7 year construction cycle.
