Thank you, my friend LTC Greg Henning for sharing the perspective of Veterans National Education Program (V-NEP).
1. As far there is not a consensus on the lessons from the Vietnam War and Desert Storm, and OEF everywhere on impacts to those who participated in direct combat or support roles.
2. A major feature of the 21st century wars is remote death from UAVs and aided by various intel gathering assets.
3. Skimming through the list of short videos suggested for the Vietnam War, the Iran-Iraq War, Desert Storm and OIF, I was struck at the list of title and how short the video are.
4. As a historian by inclination, I prefer proper-context and primary sources when either teaching or interacting with people interested in learning. Videos can certainly supplement instruction.
5. I expect many youngsters are overly familiar with OIF, Syria and ISIS by this point and most are familiar with what happened at Christchurch, NZ by now.
6. The principal skill missing from many school curriculums is logic and reasoning - both inductive and deductive approaches and strengths and limitations of each
7. Education on the war in southeast Asia from 1950 through 1975 seems admirable - it needs to be balanced between into to post WWII issues with France and USA, USA involvement and limitations on prosecuting the war, homeland issues in this nation, coalition warfare in Vietnam [allies of USA, ROK, ANZAC] and communists [VC, NVA, Soviet].
8. The Iran-Iraq war should be addressed in world history IMHO.
"Today the grandchildren of Vietnam War veterans are attending middle and high schools throughout America, sitting side-by-side with the children of those who served more recently in Desert Storm and the Iraq War. But how much do they really know about these conflicts and the sacrifices their dads, moms and grandparents proudly made?
Joining with social studies departments throughout the Country, the Veterans National Education Program (V-NEP) believes it is time to teach the lessons of these wars in the classroom. During the 2018-2019 school year, V-NEP will provide teachers with a free, collection of video clips and classroom lesson plans designed to support up to a 10-day learning experience. Our series of short video clips will bring history to life for students through expert interviews and highly visual, archival footage highlighting key events during Desert Storm and the Vietnam and Iraq Wars."

LTC Greg Henning
I know in our school there is no problem. I will use these materials in my Medal of Honor class and when I cover Vietnam War and OIF.

LTC Greg Henning Sounds like a great idea, but i am inclined to agree with Lt Col Charlie Brown some schools will not allow it.
