Emerson's Health is wealth should speak to many of us. When I first came in the military my senior leaders looked ancient. All were under 40. As my career progressed it was apparent that lifestyle had a lot to do with some people aging beyond their actual years. That and a pack a day of cigarettes, pots and pots of coffee- followed by beers in the evening with fried food, and working all the time has that effect. Take care of yourself and be good to others. Good morning Col

SSG Jose M. Hernandezsanchez - happy to say I passed 50 and don't think I look as bad as they did. Hope anyway. My perspective is a bit skewed...

Good health and good sense are two of life's greatest blessings. ~Publilius Syrus
We rarely think about our good health as a blessing until we lose it. So many of us on here are well aware of what a treasure good health is because we are fighting to regain it.
Good sense is something we can improve with practice and by learning from those we respect.
What can you do to work on one or both of these today?

Maj Robert Thornton - Yes Sir! Totally get it. I got the "gym bug" from my older brother way back in 1995. Ever since then, I never looked back. That helped me improve on the APFT with just six months of working out. Now, I found out back then that I was doing it just to do it. The last 8 years or so, I was able to get some connection that when something wrong, I listen. Back in my 20s it was not the case which lead to injuries or even over training. Good example is with my lower back, I completely ignored it, and just kept lifting, and lifting. Well, made matters worse, and I wasn't educated as I am now about training. I could've done other things or exercises so I didn't aggravate my back even worse...like you said, jumping off the bike and walk the rest of the way.
