The Eastern European rivers have been giving up corpses for some time. The Russians pulled a fully loaded T-34 up just a few years ago. London's Imperial War Museum has several. They have a IV with full skirts, a IV with snub barrel 75mm and a nice AA "Whirblewind" IV. My fave was always the III with the long barrel 50mm gun.

Amazing. Panzer IV were the mainstay of the Panzer Corps until the Panther was developed. Hope that the U.S. can get one for the Smithsonian (I learned this song at NATO from a West German Major - took a number of beers before I got it right - LOL)

Great post. Perhaps one of these Panzers could be acquired by the Museum of American Armor http://museumofamericanarmor.com in Bethpage, NY on Long Island. I have been an armor guy my entire military career and I had no idea that this museum was on Long Island. I found this little known gem while attending a family event. Automotively the equipment is all operational and the folks dress in period uniforms. The have some WWII German memorabilia and one of these would be a great addition to the museum.
