Rand Paul: Socialism breeds 'thuggery'

Thank you, my friend PO3 (Join to see) for posting the generally well-reasoned argument from Senator Rand Paul based on an analysis of socialism as it has been applied.
Our own system is a blended mixture of socialism and capitalism as foundations for government policy, budgeting, appropriation and tax revenues.
With the advent of FDR using the Great Depression as a springboard, he introduced many socialist programs - many of which did not meet constitutional requirements per court ruling. Yet Social security and Medicare were born in that era. LBJ expanded with his Great Society and former POTUS Obama expanded the most with his unaffordable Affordable Care Act.
