Do you think we need to send the Kurds back to Guam again for Safe Haven in the USA?

A retired full bird colonel friend of mine was involved in this in November of 1996. Saddam had attacked the Kurds with poison gas on the night Bob Dole tried to defeat President Clinton during the election week of 1996. We took 6,000 Kurdish Fighters and their family members to Guam because those Kurdish Fighters worked for certain United States government agencies.
Once we pull out of Eastern Syria, we may have to have a plan in place to rescue the Kurds again.
This may have to happen again if the Kurds are going to be massacred by the Turks or the Syrians. This may also have to happen if the Iraqi government forces them to leave. If this happens, I'm sure it's going to be a lot more than 6000 Kurds.

This is a rather long article from Aljazeera on the history and status of the Kurds. About 30 million of them in three or four Arab/Muslim countries seeking autonomy. A resolution to this attempt at genocide of these people should be undertaken by the UN. Syria only has about two million. Regardless of how well we support them, there fight for independence is doubtful. It’s absurd to believe our 2,200 hundred troops can change that. As much as I appreciate their willingness to gain independence, it is a near impossible task. One of the few times I have no suggested solution.

Living throughout the Middle East, millions of Kurdish people are pursuing recognition and autonomy.

The Kurds are similar to the Armenians who for decades had no country. They were spread out from Iran to Turkey to Russia. Because they are Christian (instead of Muslim) they were persecuted in many places. They now have their own country.
The US needs to take care of these folks as they have been our allies for many years.
What they deserve is their own land, but no country is willing to give up space for them.
