Support services for homeless veterans set to expire

Some 40,000 veterans at risk of homelessness could see federal support services disappear next week unless lawmakers quickly extend pandemic protections that have been caught up in a congressional funding fight.
If the funding measure does not pass by May 11, tens of thousands of veterans will be cut off from services like free rides to Veterans Affairs clinics, telehealth medical services and increased financial assistance for rent costs.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL the problem is becoming worse. Yet I was reading a book last night called “The Greatest Generation” and it talked about men raised in the Depression that headed off to war because there was only extreme sadness and loss at home. Little did they know how much more they would see.
Many veterans signed a blank check, and that’s how the government is choosing to repay them for their sacrifice: a blank check no longer payable.
