Let's talk about Teamsters, Sanders, Oklahoma, and images....

Bernie Sanders embarrasses me as a Jew. I would've let them have at it. (Although, I fully expect the Teamster goon would've cleared out before the Senator reached the pit.)

Once upon a time the teamsters were run by people with ties to mobs. Hoffa was their archetype. And this clown wants to return to those days? I'm glad he was called out. Sadly, American unions are run like the nation. People elect those who promise to give them something and they get the dregs of society. Forgive me for rambling in a comment to your post, but PO Nagel is a lot like that union boss. He won't get in the ring with me. So, I have to make my comment here. I am pro-union. No, I was never a member of a union, but I had to manage union members. It seems that most managers consider themselves in an adversarial role with unions. Personally, I sought to make them partners. In one case, as Operations Officer at a Strategic Communications Center, I had about 120 civilian employees, all members of the UEW Union. I had to cancel all Christmas leave for my military staff as well as the civilians (mission requirement). Recognizing that this was above and beyond, I had my NCOs talk to the enlisted members and the shop stewards talk to the civilians to see what could be done to ease the burden. I did everything in my power to grant their wishes. It made the military happier, but the civilians were still grumbling. When I investigated, I learned that the stewards couldn't get any participation by the union members and simply guessed at what I could do for them. I then had my first sergeant arrange to have all civilians in a meeting. When they arrived, I announced that I was giving time and space to have a union meeting, then turned and left closing the door on my way out. The stewards later met me with a new list of demands and, when I granted all I could, things got a lot better. However, the union bosses complained to the Congressional Representative that I had interfered in union business, my civilian employees stood up for me when she arrived with blood in her eyes. Generally, unions vote for union leaders no better than they vote for union reps and bosses. And Americans vote for their government no better than that.
