An interesting read on this issue is "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari." I do not represent this as the "final answer" about human development, but it does highlight how mankind evolved and developed certain "fictive" ideas, freedom and human rights among them. In this case fictive means something thought up, without any actual physical evidence to support it. Ideas like freedom, law, morals, human rights, etc.
