Remember to stay away from alcohol. Join your local alcoholics anonymous. If you have a drug problem, join Narcotics Anonymous.

My sister committed suicide and she was an alcoholic back at 2015.

Many people, including high-ranking officers.Think they are too good to admit that they have a problem.

I'm sure this general had a drinking problem but they won't want to admit it....

It is, but it's also each individual's responsibility. I don't have a single answer that will fit each scenario, but I know what I have to live for. I knew it even before I remarried and had kids.
