I love my Ruger 556. It was my 1st AR and is a solid performer for me. I’ve used it in competition (stock) and did well. I haven’t had a single malfunction with it. He is correct that the stock trigger is on the heavy side. I have since switched to a low profile gas block with a free float hand grip. I’ve also dropped in a new trigger. Everything else is stock and it is my most accurate AR. I’ve bought a few higher end AR’s and find myself going back to my Ruger. Of course there are better AR’s out there that are out of Ruger’s league but for the price point you would be hard pressed to find something better. It’s an awesome value rifle and I would recommend it to anyone looking for their 1st budget AR platform.
Tip: the Ruger 556 likes to run wet.
