The U.S. military has banned drag shows. But it used to love them.

Chip, what do you mean, ". . . .this Homophobic BS!" I would have thought you'd think that homophobia is alive and well in the Western World. No?

I served 21 years active duty, at multiple duty stations CONUS and Overseas, I don't recall ever seeing a drag show at an enlisted or SNCO club. Does this new restriction have to do with facilities, i.e. schools?

I think it has to do with drag no longer being seen as funny and something to laugh at, Charles.

SPC (Join to see) - Probably so, no doubt having these shows the forced "diversity" climate within the armed forces. Don't ban it?? I see a couple of things happening:
1. Only a small number of service members turn out to attend.
2. Those that would normally not turn out will do so only to mock.
3. Club managers will be less inclined to book these performances because of 1 and 2.
What is truly disturbing is that our representatives in the House and Senate, notice I say representatives, and not leaders, focus attention on this subject instead of ensuring our Armed Forces are prepared for possible future conflicts.
