Supreme Court may weigh constitutionality of court-martialing retirees

For crimes that happened while serving, they should be able to be courtmartialed . For crimes that happened after, no.
For crimes involving civil confinement- do as the VA does with disabled vets receiving compensation- for misdemeanors scale back. For felonies suspend or revoke said funds.

I do not know what happens today with retirees, but when I retired, I received what we called "hip-pocket orders" with the location we were to report to in the event of a recall. There was no date of expiration nor did I ever receive any release from those orders. If the same is true today, I suppose the service could recall the troop and then court martial them.

(funny, my orders were to proceed to Fort Benjamin Harrison, IN. which is no longer an active Army base. I guess I just go to Indiana and look for someone to report to. Of course I doubt the Army would want or need an 80 year old disabled soldier.)
