Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been criticized for requesting federal aid in the wake of the tornadoes that ripped through the state despite previously speaking out against the "meddling hand of big government."

Sanders' plea for help has led to accusations of hypocrisy. During her gubernatorial campaign, she said she was running to defend the "right to be free of socialism and tyranny."

She has the right to ask for assistance for her citizens...they pay federal taxes too

Issue is not Governor Huckabee asking, but criticizing federal government and maybe wanting blank check instead of aid.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - THIS ISN'T SOCIALISM...THIS IS AMERICA TAKING CARE OF AMERICANS...Dang you liberal left folks...making a mountain out of a mole hill...quit making everything political...these are AMERICANS who are hurting and need help that is beyond the reach and scope of any state...my sister is one of them in TN who in her community had 9 deaths and flattened houses...how about let's focus on taking care of each other and praying and lifting up our fellow Americans and getting them help instead of chasing political red herrings...there is a time and place and rightnow isn't it...that is what federal funds are for...every governor that has federal disaster in its state should request federal assistance for their AMERICANS...every American play taxes...not republicans or democrats...AMERICANS...seriously!!!!
