SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL I might get backlash for this but I don't think there should have been a second chance. Peoples lives are at risk. What if they weren't caught and the f*cked up someplace because they didn't know what to do? They could have got innocent people killed.

Humans will be humans, even West Pointers, have gotten solders kill with their decisions, I had one CO, that got his company men killed in Vietnam. He had a nick name out of Vietnam they gave him. I don't remember it all, but it was something like, "???, Crispy Critters". I was told, in the Nam, he called in a air strike, that killed some of his men.
He wasn't a bad CO, and I liked him, but the name stuck with him.
That doesn't mean, he was a bad leader, at the time, it might have been just that, a bad decision at the time.
No way, a human can predict, an out come of a Human's, direction, only speak of the, "ATF". (After the fact)
I've met, and known some very good NCO's, that didn't have an education backing, didn't graduate from school, one, only had 8th grade. Most on them were draftees, and could keep you alive, what ever the situation, at the time.
Yes, it was, or maybe, for the said, or written rules, but in life, I learned a long time ago, "How do you win the game?" "You, change the rules!"
Thanks, Joe, for your post, and I respect your education.

My college honor system applies here: I will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do. The flight line is the last place you want to encounter someone who got there by cheating!

When I was in I took the physical for flight school, I failed the glaucoma test (the one where they blow a puff of air in your eye). The Army I was in, you flunk one thing, you fail everything. You had to get first time go's.
