Rosie Torres of Robstown, Texas, is no Washington lobbyist, but she’s been making the long trek to Capitol Hill for some 13 years, knocking year after year on lawmakers’ doors. Her mission: Alert them — convince them — that something awful has been happening to Iraq and Afghanistan veterans as a result of constant exposure to toxic military burn pits.

Thanks, Brother Joe, for posting the update on a great victory for veterans, due to the long-term efforts of Jon Stewart and Rosie Torres, who overcame so many obstacles, barriers, and blocks, yet soldiered on. It's to their credit that they never gave up, and finally won that victory for veterans and all others who were exposed to such terrible impacts on their lungs, their hearts, and their health.
