Possibly they're all veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Maybe they thought the barracks were an upgrade.

I was just at Fort Bragg about two weeks ago. There are parts of main post that look like they have been abandoned. I spent 17 years on that base and I nearly cried when I saw the condition that it was in. I have to wonder where the Garrison Sergeant Major is, where the Post Command Sergeant Major is and where the Division Command Sergeant Major is. If CSM McBride were still with us, he would choke on his coffee. I went on to what WAS Pope Air Force Base. Since the Army took over control of Pope, making it Pope Army Air Field, the condition is appalling. This does not surprise me, the condition of Fort Bragg is, as I said, appalling. They should take the money that they are devoting to renaming the base and use it to fix what is wrong there.
