thanks for the share.I can never understand why our government put our troops in harms-way and when something happens, NOT willing to fix or take care of it????? I had met Gy. S. French back in the 80 when I was a Sgt. We would got fishing and I noticed an horrible sores on his arms, back of his neck and hands. And sure enough he had Agent Orange and was eaten up with it.He soon died and family got nothing. Now, our vets go do there jobs so Big Brother needs to take care of them when they become sick/injured if it's service related!!!!!!!

Big victory for veterans. Most significant expansion of benefits since the GI Bill. They had to defeat late disinformation campaign by GOP Senators trying to defeat the bill. Vets won, but it shouldn't have been this hard.

If the Democrats had left the House bill alone, it would've gotten passed the first time around.

The bill never was substantively changed. All that was changed was a one-sentence technical fix, then Senators lied about it causing many in their caucus to vote against the same bill they had just voted for a month prior.

CAPT (Join to see) - Why would the Democrats need a one-sentence change? Why not just pass it the way it was?

Sgt (Join to see) The Democrats didn't need it. When the Senate passed the bill, one sentence was deemed by the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Parliamentarian to to impact federal revenue. Revenue legislation must originate in the House and this provision dealing with hiring authorities originated in the House. If the Speaker rammed it through anyway, anyone could sue on the grounds that it's unconstitutional and the whole bill could be struck down.
